Nik Byrne
Nik is a very thoughtful and considered angler, who researches new techniques and experiments with different ‘out of the square’ techniques to tempt a wide range of species. Nik is at home chasing wrasse as he is after bream, trout and game species. Nik writes on a whole range of techniques and locations around the coast and inland – his article in issue 1 on using soft plastics for trout is still one of the most regarded articles on the subject published anywhere. |

Emma Heynes
Emma is a talented cyclist and athlete and a medical scientist to boot. Emma will fish for anything with fins, but specialises in chasing big fish from her 6.5 metre boat. Although she is at home wrestling with the big ones, she also loves to chase trout in small streams on dry flies. Emma writes with authority on a wide range of subjects – mostly saltwater, but look forward to some fly fishing stories with a different perspective. |

His credentials in tournament fishing are first class – 2nd in the 2006 ABT round in Hobart, he backed that up with an excellent 6th overall at the 2006 ABT Grand Final in NSW at Ballina. In 2007 he won the Derwent round with an Australian bag weight record. |

Bob Cooper pens the regular ‘Bob’s Bits’ column, a quirky look at the other side of fishing. Bob’s wry sense of humour and keen observation skills help him pen a witty and sometimes risqué column at the rear of the magazine each issue. Bob has been a fly fisher for most of his years – he has been, amongst other things, a Parks Ranger at Lake St Clair, and a creator of hand crafted landing nets and leather fly wallets. |

Phil Ellerton
Phil contributes both the regular hot spot articles and feature articles from time to time. He is also the regular columnist for the Mercury Newspaper, giving him unique access to regular fishing updates. Steve Steer
Arguably Tasmania’s top tournament angler, Steve has won 6 ABT events and is perhaps the most innovative lure angler Tasmania has seen for some time. Steve is at home chasing trout as he is pursuing bream. Steve writes the regular Plastics column, as well as some top technical articles that uncover much of the secrets to lure fishing. |
